Stepping Into Beautiful Feet

Not everyone was born with perfect looking feet. Some people deal with cracked heels, hairy toes or possibly the worst problem - foot fungus. If your unsightly feet are keeping you from getting a pedicure or sporting sandals, consider these tricks to take your feet from gnarly to normal.

Soak your feet

Combine warm water with Epsom salts and soak your feet for at least ten minutes. This will loosen your skin and get it ready for exfoliation.

Exfoliate, Exfoliate, Exfoliate

Buy a foot scrub and go to town. By removing the dead skin, you're bringing newer, suppler skin to the surface. A pumice stone is also a worthwhile investment that can help in this department.

Moisturize

There are a lot of foot moisturizers that work pretty well. Make an effort to apply moisturizer every night. If you're dealing with particularly rough and dry skin, slather moisturizer or Vaseline on your feet and cover them with a sock for a few hours. It will feel a little gooey, but allowing your feet to absorb that kind of moisture will improve their appearance.

Fight fungus

If your nails are yellow, or you suspect you're dealing with a fungus, try the over-the-counter treatments first. However, if they don't help, you'll probably want to talk with a podiatrist for the best possible treatment.
